Mercedes Martín is a meteorologist and oceanographer who works as a weather presenter for Antena 3 in Spain. She is also an activist and a researcher who has collaborated with prestigious institutions such as the Natural History Museum of London and the Marie Curie Throughflow Project. She is passionate about the oceans and their biodiversity, and she tries to inform her audience with rigor, honesty and transparency. Mercedes Martín has a degree in Oceanography from the University of Cádiz and a degree in Physics from the Complutense University of Madrid. She also studied remote sensing applied to oceanography at the Technical University of Munich. She started her career in television as an intern at Televisión Española, and then joined Antena 3 in 2016. She became viral in 2020 when she appeared on screen wearing pajamas, breaking the stereotypes of how a weather presenter should dress.
